During the late 1960's, before I was born, my grandfather Cmd. Fred Dustin Ret. USN led an around the world flight which included navigating over both Poles, and for a time even listed my Grandmother Helen "Buttons" Dustin in the Guiness Book of World Records beginning in the early 1970's.
It's my hope to find as much information on this trip as possible and collect that information in this blog. I'd like to re-create my Grandfather's great expedition, and perhaps even find some people who may be still alive who were either members of the expedition or had some kind of experience with it.
My plan currently is to use this blog to collect as many web links as possible and put this out there on the internet with the hope that there might be a coincidental searcher looking for information on this flight.
